What's the one problem you commonly encounter when working with a UX designer?

Nowadays, there are a lot of UX designers and more often than not, designers call themselves as UX designers even though they focus on UI design. And UX designers have an important role in making a company grow specifically in doing the qualitative research, but only few designers and companies know the importance of qualitative research. So I guess my question now is what's the one problem you commonly encounter working with a ux designer in terms of business growth?

You’re right that some designers position themselves as UX when they don’t actually focus on research and other UX methodologies but I think the challenge is two-sided. The other side is businesses don’t understand the value of research, they think they ‘know’ what their users want and in a lot of cases engage a designer to simply make their own vision ‘look pretty’.

What would be the one thing that designers can do to let the businesses see the value in research?
