What's the point in applying to YC2023 if it's remote?

DISCLAIMER: I'm writing this post unaware of the covid-19 situation in SF.
TBH, I'm sick and tired of this "remote everything" way of doing things.

I just had enough of all these 45-min video calls, and long-distance relationships with mentors, peers, friends and founders.

For me, YC is not just an opportunity to raise money and meet great mentors but also to live the 3-month (hopefully years) life-changing experience in the States.

Yeah, you can do startups everywhere, and I know there are cheaper places; just saying that the application for me has 40% less value if it's remote.

Please, change my mind?
