What's your daily knowledge ritual?

Knowledge is an enormous competitive edge in life. For entrepreneurs, it's a necessity. What do you do every day to make sure you keep learning?

As for myself, I

For many years I’ve been reading online articles from many sources just to give my self an illusion that I learn something, but that was like eating unhealthy takeaway.

I think the most useful knowledge was the structured knowledge gained from books, so I have a subscription on o Reilly and for other books I browse sometimes less legal sources like library genesis. I like to have them in pdf format so I can make notes ( iOS Margin note app and LiquidText ) flash cards, and brain maps and link concepts between documents.

If I learn something new I try to apply this in real live ASAP, otherwise I learned all the knowledge is within a few days lost in the information chaos I consume every day.

In general I think learning “less” is important. And to keep your knowledge I try to learn things that are really crucial to my daily life and work.

The endless scrolling on Facebook, Reddit, etc. really makes it difficult to ever say - "I think I covered enough ground today". I def feel the same way.
Can you recommend a good book you've read for Business/Entrepreneurship? I've recently read, "The Lean Startup" by Eric Reis. The amount of actionable and reproducible knowledge it has is incredible. Def recommend for any bootstrapping startup founder.
Using flashcards - that's a very interesting way to retain knowledge. Coincidentally enough, I'm learning basic Corporate Finance right now and this might be a good way to remember all the ratios involved.

Recently I read a quite good book “Thinking in systems” it doesn’t give direct answers how to make a business ( it’s not even about business ) But introducing the concept that everything is a system and it really could change the view on the world an how to analyse products, competition, customers. It could help to understand action reactions and feedback loops for a company. It may give you a few aha! moments that things actually works in counterintuitive ways.

About flash cards ( Anki, supermemo) for the ratios they should work pretty well. But in general everything you put into flash cards you should understand pretty well. ( the knowledge must be attached to other leaves on the tree ) otherwise I tend to remember things only during the training session, but I rarely can digit up in real life situations.

For me, it's not about being on the top but about gaining knowledge that I can apply long-term. For that, I read books on my commute every day.

But if I want to get info about the latest tech stuff, I like to check out https://stratechery.com/ as well as TechMeme or TechCrunch.
