What's your Enough MRR?

I can survive with 450 a month, I live well with 700, and would love to get to 1k

I’d say with 7-8k I’d quit freelancing and dedicate full time to my sideproject.

I and another co-founder need $2000 to reach "ramen profitability". We will quit our day jobs/contract work if we make $5000 from our product.

For reference though I live in Southern California so cost of living is not the cheapest. The “enough” number for me is around $5K but from experience getting above the $7K range makes a massive difference for my comfort level psychologically.

If I were to go back to Arizona (lived there for 16 years) I can easily chop off $1500 off both numbers and land in the same spot.

I plan to keep my full-time job for a couple of years, so my "Enough MRR" will be more like a "Nice-to-Have MRR". Ideally, I'd like it to be around $2-3K a month so that I can pay off my student loans and/or save up money to buy a place.

After quitting my job though (and assuming my student loans are paid off), my "Enough MRR" will likely be around $4K, thanks to the cost of living in Mexico. Anything more than that is a bonus for me.
