What's your favorite Chrome extension and why?

I'm a recovering Chrome extension junkie but find myself in relapse.

I have 33 extensions and can't seem to resist finding those gems that make my life easier.

What's your favorite and why?

If I had to pick one it would probably be The Great Suspender.

If it had to be the top five I would say:

  1. The Great Suspender: saves hours of battery life when I'm unplugged
  2. Clipboard History Pro: use this religiously to copy text first so that I don't lose my work; can access my clipboard for the past few months.
  3. Full Page Screen Capture: Iets me automatically capture entire landing pages w/o scrolling
  4. Instant Data Scraper: Can scrape entire websites with just a few clicks
  5. Internet Connection Monitor: light instantly turns red when my wifi goes offline

    uBlockOrigin.

It blocks ads, spyware, malware, and crypto miners out of the box. In addition to that, I configured it to block cookie notices, popups, social buttons, and chat widgets as well.

It is the only extension I have across all my browsers and the only one I trust. The web is an unusable, outright hostile place without a proper script blocker. I can tolerate a lot of things, but browsing the web without uBO isn't one of them.

same here for uBlockOrigin. First thing I install on a new laptop. Which I did last month, and voluntarily sent them $5.

I use AdBlock but I think its just for ads not malware. This is golden. Thx for sharing.

Great collection. I haven't tried what you have listed. I will give it a try.

I use Quillbot and Grammarly. It helps me to write better.

Quillbot is amazing! Cool that it lets you reshuffle content and write better. I will def be adding to my arsenal.

I love The Great Suspender! Although I'm considering switching over to Safari, as it seems faster (if that's not placebo at work).

The one I haven't seen mentioned yet is Forest (https://www.forestapp.cc/). It helps me block less than productive websites.

Skrapp - email lists for Rejuvia (www.rejuviamedical.com) have grown tremondously through Skrapp in very targeted manner

    Productivity tool: https://inmotion.app/
Dismissed it at first but now I clearly notice I'm wasting far less time aimlessly browsing.

Great find. Has it actually changed your behavior? Or do you just hit the "snooze" button? I think I would snooze it until its no longer relevant then uninstall.

I do snooze it a bit yep but now I'm more conscious of how much time I'm wasting on Twitter/Reddit etc. so I do end up seeing some improvement.

This is a seriously good list @mtthlbg. I just installed #1 and may end up using #5 instead of having to switch Chrome into dev mode just to see CSS objects. Thx much for sharing.
