What's the most successful growth strategy you have ever tried?

Mine: we had a product where you can share curated learning lists. And I'd curate lists for related subreddits.

Every post would get avg. 600 upvotes, also brings 1000 users and 10.000 views on average.

What's yours? Every product requires different startegy.
