I'm about to embark upon turning an idea into a thing.
I'm curious to hear how other Indiehackers get from idea to the designs. I'd like to know what tools and processes you use along the way.
I've done this a few times and wanted to check my blindspots. To see how others approach this process and whether I could improve how I approach this (before I get going!).
So, I have a problem, a solution, a community / market.
I am planning to build an MVP as a digital product / website / SaaS. Some assumptions have been made there.
-> So what am I asking for? I'm curious to how others:
I'm also keen to hear of steps that I've neglected.
Do you sketch it all paper or do you have a suite of tools that help you? Let me know - Thanks!
At the business level, it never hurts to try to measure the scalability of the market "as far as it can go" (i think that defining the high-level opportunity as well is important at first).
Talk to people, not only seek to validate your solution but also try to understand the problem and the frustrations that can arise from it (all the pain points) so you can trace where your solution can be more effective covering the small details that can give you an advantage. try not to spend a lot of time on that but try to talk to at least 5 or 10 persons.
try to enforce the selling of the idea-product (monetization), most businesses die because entrepreneurs don't invest time in sales studies and marketing understanding
Wireframing on paper is the best for agile iterations use adobe xd (free) for creating more high-quality wireframes for user testing and validate user flows; use the zeppelin addon for exporting the assets
PD. if you have a friend that is a UX designer ask him or her to help you with the design
