Whats your marketing budget, platform & strategy?

I'm currently building the UKs free personal finance roadmapping tool.

Really curious to understand:
1 - how much you spend to promote your tool and build your audience.
2 - which platforms you have found work best for your niche.
3 - what your 'strategy' is for customer/user aquisition.

My site is currently un-monetised but I want to build an audience and unsure if 'growing an audience & subscriber base' makes sense as a marketing goal without monetising.

I plan to add a few recommended & vetted affiliates down the line where people are getting a bad deal on their financial products elsewhere - but the tool will always be free.

Anyone else building an audience with a free tool? Do you have a marketing budget?
