What's your opinion on voice messages?

Sending a voice message is a lot quicker then writing an email or a dm.

This might be a controversial way of reaching out to new people.

I feel like it can add a bit of a "realer" touch to the outreach because the person receiving it is actually hearing your voice, rather than reading the letters and imagining a voice. But I also think that a lot of people might find it a bit weird to receive a voice message from someone they don't know.

What do you think?

I had actually considered this idea when doing sms abandoned cart recovery for my business. There is an automated email from shopify, but not text (that I know of). I would type out every single text message tailored to each customer who abandoned their cart... and it's quite time consuming.

So I did think about sending voice messages...

I had kind of a similar apprehension, though, and never actually sent any customers voice messages.

Dang! You should've tried it haha. It would be interesting to see if there are actually any case studies on something like this.

I think you may be on to something. Nobody likes phone calls. People even get annoyed with or just don't care about texts... but who could resist hitting the play button on a voice text? Could be especially beneficial if the content is highly relevant. I think I will try it out and track the abandoned cart recoveries... worth a shot.

Definitely! Let us know how it goes!

On a STRICTLY personal level. I hate them. I read the transcript that Google provides when someone leaves one. I never listen to them.

What about a loom video? When I was thinking of starting a wordpress web dev service a couple of years back, a lot of people online were saying to record looms of the prospect's website doing a quick review.

If someone were to send you a quick loom video, would you have the same reaction? I feel like maybe it'll make me a bit more curious than just a voice message.

I might watch that. Not sure how it would hit me though. I think it's worth trying!
