After listening to IH Podcast 122 Honey Badger I am inspired to relaunch my web + marketing consultant business this week. This will fund the time freedom needed to work on my start up concept. Passing assets over to my product artist this week to stay on track for a holiday product launch. Standing up the initial website for another concept this week as well, bring ideas to life and iterate in the open is the moto this week.
What was it specifically from the podcast that inspired you? (I haven't listened to it yet, working though a backlog!)
They talked about the ability to scale back on client work incrementally as your side project grows in revenue/success at just the right pace. Enabling giving more time to your new business in an incremental fashion until you can fully transition. As opposed to full time office work that is difficult to scale back at the right pace and may require a leap of faith to quit or renegotiate your hours.
Working on adding "form" style polls so you can string together multiple inputs into a single slide like "name", "age", "email" for a contact us form. I think this should add another use-case for Zigpoll (https://www.zigpoll.com) to make it more useful for more businesses.
Marketing. For the first time in a while, I don't have any major features on my backlog. I've started to build out a Mailchimp integration to send follow up emails to people that have signed up. I'm also looking into hiring a freelance digital marketerer/copywriter.
To Figure out what I should focus on and work on next
Came up with a chrome extension idea last week. Hope to publish it at the end of the week. I'm still waiting on Google to deposit into my business account to verify that. I also need to tweak the chrome store images for the listing. That shouldn't take too long. Already got the landing page website done so i'm in pretty good shape!
Do 3 potential customer interviews! I came up with my great product idea, built out an MVP (very very basic), so now trying to figure out if anyone wants to buy it! Idea generation/validation is so hard for developers in my opinion. Fortunately, my MVP only took about 6 hours, it's definitely not in good enough shape to show anyone (just good enough to know I can do it), so we'll see what people say. I realized I needed to do this when I tried to do a StoryBrand and clarify my customer and message...and realized I don't exactly know who they are!

Ah, I didn't realize. That explains your progress log on a Thursday. Do you have other commitments earlier in the week?
I have a part-time client at the moment. On Thursdays and Fridays, I only do about an hour of client work, so I have a lot more time left for side projects.
I could think of Thursday as the beginning of my weekend, but I thought my brain might take that too literally and start resting instead of working! 😁

I'm in Brighton, lived in Cambridge for a couple of years at one point too.
Nice idea and price point for the groups, a week away at short notice might result in considerable stress for my husband and all the kids that I'll end up dumping on him. :D
