What's your review of Bannerbear?

Hey there!

I want to automate certification creation for my startup. Would you recommend bannerbear for it? What are the pros and cons?

I have existing customers doing just this. They auto generate educational certificates with name / date etc customized.

But I won’t comment on the quality of my service as I’m biased!

Happy to answer questions if you have any though.

If I were you , I would code this in some language and run it whenever required. Bannerbear is great if you want to create a wide variety of assets. I am assuming certificate designs would be standard.

Bannerbear seems overkill to be honest. Even on the lowest pricing tier, if you were only using it for certificates you'd be paying for a lot of unused features (eg. 60min video).

You could make your certificates using automated Google Docs PDF exports. That would scale up to hundreds if not thousands per day for free.

Hey. I faced the same issue. Made a more efficient and cheaper alternative to bannerbear. You can check it out here: https://projectmojo.co/

We are providing free early access (up to 1000 files, unlimited templates) in the next 2 weeks. You can register for early access here: https://projectmojo.co/access

PS: You can send in your template and feature suggestions too. We'll make them for you!

I've been venturing into the image generation API with my (formerly video editing) app Glitterly. The current free tier is 50x images / month - not as fancy as Bannerbear or Placid but might be enough for your use case:

You might want to explain what you mean by certifications. My first association was for SSL certificates, but I think you have something else in mind.

Not certifications. But certificate document for an employee
