What's your take on using a free limited plan vs a free trial?

Hello everyone,

I'm currently working on the pricing options for my new startup and struggling between offering a free plan or instead of having a free 14-day trial.

How would you approach this? Keeping in mind that I'm in the launch phase and started to get some traction.

Thank you so much.

One question to ask is how long would it take for a user to gain value from it, given most people probably sign up and then forget to go back in to finish any setup for a few days.

If it relies on some setup followed by a time for something to happen then go free Limited.

If they can sign up and do something nearly instantly (ie pull twitter users etc) then go free trial.

What does your startup do / offer?

Hello @ourwebassistant and thank you for the great answer.

My app offer a social media automation and scheduling, here's a link to it: https://nuelink.com/

And saving time is one of the major benefits we're focusing on, so you basically get value from it in 3 minutes. Users can schedule months of content in minutes on it.

With that purpose in mind I'd think the 14 day free trial would be a better option. They can get started quickly but then to carry on in the future you should have them hooked to do the next months worth.

I like the stacking card effect when you scroll down the page, looks funky.

Thank you so much @ourwebassistant I will start experimenting with this approach first and see how it goes. Hopefully, we will get the billing ready next week.
