What's your top distribution channel right now?

I'll give you a direct answer and an indirect answer.

The direct answer:

I've analyzed all 497 IndieHackers interviews for an answer to this question (see Zero to Users) for more details). The top 5 channels are:

1. SEO (after another acquisition channel works for you)
2. Marketplaces
3. Product Hunt
4. Reddit
5. "Powered by" marketing

The indirect answer:

It really depends on where your customers are. For example, if you're selling B2B SaaS for dropshippers, you probably want to check out Facebook and the 100+ FB groups on dropshipping.

So in the context of the list above, you want to also check any relevant subreddits for your niche. You want to check big players in your niche and see if they have a plugin directory. Also, you could find an ideal client in the industry people are copying and use the "powered by" tactic to let people know they're using you (I'd even go and consider paying them to use you. Social proof is extremely powerful).

Some reddits are very hostile to people who blatantly promote themselves, do I'd also consider my positioning here. Ask for feedback is the most straightforward option, so if you're making software for DJs, go to relevant subs, be honest, say you're building software X and ask for feedback.

Product Hunt also worked for us, because it exposed our product to different type of audiences which eventually helped us decide where to focus on.
