When did you quitted your daytime job?

Hi guys,
let's do a survey:
when did you quitted your job? why? what happened?
My last time being employed by someone else was around 10 years ago. I didn't want to work for them anymore so I quit.
and what do you do now?
Co-own an advertising company. I also have another business trying new startup ideas.

My last day job was 11 years ago, been on my own since then.
Still doing it. Having less time and energy is offset by sustainability: no matter how unlikely an idea is, it doesn't matter if it fails. And being in the middle of the tyranny of the grind is a visceral motivation to move forwards.
December 2010 was the last corporate consulting gig I ever did. Freckle's revenue wasn't big enough yet to support that move (only ~$30k ARR), so I worked my ass off to add another revenue stream to enable me to quit… because working for clients was breaking me, emotionally. That effort became 30x500.
