Where are you advertising your macOS apps?

I'd like to put a bit more effort into advertising rather than purely organic growth.
Im interested to know how others are advertising their macOS applications. I used to use some services where I would write a press release, and they would send it to multiple online news sources. But all these services don't seem to exist anymore.
Is social media really the only way now?
Social media works but it's a grind tbh. What I found is that tech journalists still cover apps, they just don't want generic press releases anymore. They want something newsworthy or a founder story.
I was stuck in the same spot as you - those press release services are basically useless now. Eventually connected with someone who actually pitches journalists properly instead of just blasting releases. Using PR Superstar who got me into some UK tech publications which brought in way better users than Twitter ads ever did. Still do social but earned media converts better.
How about advertising on GPTs with related-topics for your app?
