Where can I find communities of podcasters?

Hi everyone,

I'm building a product for podcasters and looking to find more users to try it out. I'd appreciate any tips or ideas on where to find podcasters.

For context, here's what I've done so far:

  • Posting on the r/podcasting and r/SideProject subreddits.
  • Asking friends if they know any podcasters. A surprising number of people make podcasts.
  • Pulling emails from the Player FM hosting site.

These things have helped moderately, and so if you are also building in the podcast space, I'd recommend trying them out too to find users.

Are there any other communities of podcasters where I could ask for users and feedback? Here's my product Dubb for more context on what I'm building: https://www.dubb.media/. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I noticed you changed your site. Looks much better now! I would get a more distinctive logo and make the sign up button unique rather than having a google one

Tap into tools to find podcast guests like https://podcasthawk.com/

I find another subreddit r/PodcastGuestExchange is even better than podcasting. It's more for finding guests, but I'm sure there are plenty of podcasters on there as well.

Also, I have a some advice on your landing page.

I don't think it's a good idea to have the "sign up to see more" blurred image on the front page. One, it's purple for a large area, which is quite jarring when purple is used sparingly elsewhere on the site. Make it light grey instead.

Second, prompting potential customers to sign up first before providing a value proposition might drive them away or force them to scroll down first to get the value proposition before signing up. So the potential customers are already forced to perform additional actions to see how the product could help them.

Third, I think the image of the podcast audio, brain, and marketing kit looks unprofessional due to the thick borders and garish colors. It should also be arranged horizontally instead of vertically because it means customers don't have to scroll as much to get the info.

Lastly, I think your example podcast should be embedded on the same page rather than linked to a different page. Similar to what I said before, you want to reduce customer actions.

Of course, you have to change the format a bit so it fits more on your site rather than the anthology of heroes site. But all the content generated by the AI is still there.

If you've read this far, I'd like to let you know I'm actually developing an API for AI specifically for developers to implement into their apps. So far, we're planning on hosting Stable Diffusion and Bloom (GPT-3 alternative) first, and we'll plan to get an audio transcription AI on there in the future.

I'd love to get your feedback once it releases!

Feel free to follow it here: https://www.indiehackers.com/product/evoke

I also post a lot about it on Twitter, which you can follow: https://twitter.com/TheRealEtch

Good luck on your product! I think this will be very useful for podcasters. It's not just auto transcript, but also provides other things as well.

Also, I'd definitely be interested in trying out Evoke when it's released. I just followed!

Hi Richard, thank you a lot for mentioning the r/PodcastGuestExchange. I also really appreciate you providing such detailed feedback on the landing page. I think it could definitely use some revamping and I will take your points into account when I do that.

No problem! Twitter DMs are open so if you have any other questions I'd be down to take a look at your site again to provide some feedback.

@RichardGao I made some updates to the site to better show the value proposition and hopefully make the style nicer https://www.dubb.media/. Let me know what you think!

There are probably a bunch on Facebook.

    Did a search at thehiveindex.com and found a Slack called #podcasters --
