Where do find UI/UX inspiration for you SaaS product?
Use Dribble and exploring the SaaS tools that I personally use is feeling pretty limited. Know of any great sites that have examples of real SaaS pages i.e. Billing, password resets, team creation etc?
Dribbble by itself is actually great for me. Whenever I'm designing a new page or feature for Indie Hackers, I can usually search around on Dribbble and find a few sources of inspiration.
What I've found really helps with design stuff in general is going deep. I don't just search Dribbble for 5 minutes, I search for an hour or more, and the result is that I find much better stuff. It's the same when I'm tweaking my designs: I don't just go with the first layout or two that I try, but instead I try dozens of layouts and hundreds of iterations and tweaks.
It's all very tedious and takes more time than I'd like, but it's worth it to get to those breakthroughs. Usually when I can't get a design to look good, it's just because I haven't put in the time.
This resonates for sure. Super painful to spend days creating layouts that you end up throwing away but it's the only way I've found of ending up with something half decent.
I wonder if great designers can skip a bunch of iterations by just 'knowing' what won't work or if they just iterate faster?
Having worked with some great designers closely in the past both of these are true for them.
They have a wealth of experience and a killer intuition to draw upon, meaning they have to do fewer iterations to arrive at an excellent result, and they iterate much quicker due to knowing their tools inside-out.
I'll have to ask some of the designers at Stripe that question one of these days, because they're all pretty great imo.
I could imagine an AMA with one of them being super interesting.

Semi-hijacking thread. As a developer, what's your design process like?
I usually sketch a feature on balsamiq, then I immediately jump to a framework like Bulma to implement it. I end up with a framework default looking app which is ok for an mvp usually.
Do you guys use tools like Sketch etc in your design process? Do you find it saving you time in the long run?
