I’ve been researching something that seems surprisingly messy for indie hackers:
There are dozens of launch platforms out there, but they’re very different.
Some are daily hunts.
Some run weekly.
Some are better for pre-launch products.
Some have stronger developer or AI audiences.
Some are useful mainly for SEO.
And just having a huge list of websites doesn’t really help.
So I built Product Hunt Alternatives to make the research more useful:
https://producthunt-alternatives.com/
It currently covers 59 launch platforms and scores them across:
• Traffic potential
• Audience quality
• SEO/backlink value
• Ease of launch
• Community
• Cost
There are also rankings by use case, launch sequences, platform comparisons, launch guides, and a Launch Advisor to help narrow down options.
The idea is pretty simple:
Stop treating launch as one event. Treat it as a sequence of distribution opportunities.
Curious how other indie hackers approach this:
Do you still focus almost entirely on Product Hunt, or do you launch across multiple platforms?
