Where to get information about weddings in other cultures?

I'm currently working on a product in the wedding space and I would like to design it in a way that is compatible with as many cultures, ethnic groups, religions, countries, and social classes as possible.

I plan to include a feature where users can provide feedback saying I am missing something relevant to them, but I would like to make an effort to include material for a wide variety of users at launch.

I have found various wikipedia articles and subreddits, as well as a couple of books, but I'm worried that they are misleading. For instance I have read about supposed traditions in my culture that none of my friends or family have ever heard of.

My current plan is to compile a list of as many different demographics as I can think of, and then try to interview (or send a questionnaire to) members of those demographics. However, I don't know how to find these people, how to generate the list of demographics or how to make it worth their time.

Possibly free access to my product could be an incentive?

My other idea is to submit one or more posts to reddit asking for both legitimate traditions and common misconceptions.

Does anyone here have any ideas?

Might be helpful if you'd be more specific about what about the wedding you care about... is it something visual like a dress code? you can probably find wedding images and videos online that represents that
or lookup wedding organizers and such
I do think some of it is super local while much of the base is religion, actual differences could be as specific as an individual

If it's an MVP, just focus on one that you know, it would be way more relatable/attractive if it's specifically tailored to one way and doesn't try to be generic or address too many different things

Thanks for your thoughts. I’m working on something that helps people plan weddings, getting pretty close to a soft launch.

Without spilling all my beans (I don’t have the stomach for building in the open - I’m a bad IH community member... sorry), I can however say that adding content/support for a wide variety of cultures is very easy, I just need to know what different customs exist.

I guess you could definitely say that doing the additional research isn’t MVP, as the MVP isn’t just the code.

I might see if I can get some basic results with a couple of simple reddit threads, and then dive deeper later
