Where to host multiple small websites/webapps/tools?

Suppose you have a bunch of ideas for simple but useful tools that you want to share with the world. These tools are mostly listings, event reminder services, i/o processing with a small database.

How would you go about hosting all these? Some shared hosting here and there? Digital Ocean Droplets (one per tool/site)?

ie: @levelsio does it pointing domains to the same Linode instance.
