Where to launch my product?

Hello everyone,

I've been following @alexanderqchen (Alexander Chen) journey on launching his product on different platforms. He shared his launch strategy and results in Hacker News, Reddit and Indie Hackers itself.

It makes me wonder what other sites could be used to launch a product these days. I've been building a startup in the last ten years (sold it recently) and now I'm becoming and IH so I'm not that up to date on where to launch. Paid promotions would be ok too.

So, where are you guys launching products and how it's going?

Hey Marcos! Launching on Discord has also been pretty effective for me. I just joined a bunch of Discords in my niche, then chatted with people and plugged my product in “natural conversation”. It was a super interesting experience, planning to post about that on Monday.

I’m interested to see other peoples’ responses as well! Thanks for the post

Totally new to Discord, how do you find channels in your niche?

      1. 3

There’s a site called Disboard that lets you search Discord servers. I write more about launching on Discord in this article if you’re interested!

thanks for sharing this, i would always struggle to find a discord niche since most of them are focused on streaming or gaming

          1. 1

Hope it was helpful! There are Discords in all different niches not just gaming!

I've just read it, pretty interesting. Never thought of it as a distribution channel.

I'll try to use it and see what happens.

          Thanks so much for sharing!

Nice, I have to admit that I am feeling kinda old. Discord is really foreign to me. I will look into it.

Are you planning to launch on Product Hunt as well?

        1. 1

Nice, I will check it out

      1. 3

Yes! I’ve been planning to launch on Product Hunt for a while, but something always comes up that’s more urgent than that. Planning to do it next week though! Hopefully Monday

I am also launching my very first SaaS and I am reading a lot of stuff about it. Obviously Product Hunt is the most popular one, but there are also couple of alternatives like Betalist, Betapage, Launched, Launching Next, Side Projectors, Startupbase and many more. Also Discord Servers, Slack Groups and Linkedin Groups

Thanks, that's an interesting list. I will check it out. What is your product?

My app is converting sketches into realistic renders in seconds using AI. I am focusing right now on buildings architecture, but I have plans for interior designs, gardens etc. - visualizee[.]ai

Hi. https://launchpointzero.com/ has a great list. If you're into AI, try switbai.com and aitoolboard.com (my products).

    Cheers

I’ve started with Reddit for my product TreeScale.com
Basically, looking up subreddits with relevant content and start Q&A by mentioning the product. That worked really well.

    ProductHunt
    Reddit
    betalist
    IndieHackers
    Twitter
    Linkedin

Depends the type of launch you want, you want visitors or new users ?

    1. 1

New users is the goal. Actually my project is still in alpha so the first thing would be users to help validate the product.
But when I posted the topic I was thinking a more about getting users for the actual launch.

If you want users you can launch on LTD platform, it's the best :)

        1. 1

What is the link for that? In my search it's very hard to find because LTD means something completely different

          1. 2

            Appsumo | Dealmirror | GrabLtd ;)

    Hey Marcos

Directories are overlooked channels that help you gain initial traffic, meanwhile the links can help with the SEO too.

We curated a list of AI directories to promote your AI product at https://webdirectorycenter.com/

I created AI tools and launch on the ProductHunt. The traffic goes viral after the first launch but not last too long. Then I submit my tool to some directories, then it helps me to steadily gain traffic. I cannot share the link now, but you can go to the site to check the free listing: boostaitraffic

I want to DIY a 3D printer by myself, but I don't know much, I only know that I need to prepare a suitable first.
