Where to learn the 80/20 of SEO?

Hi folks,

I'm a developer looking to learn the basics of SEO without the BS or trying to squeeze the Google juice to the last drop. What are some resources that have taught you the basics without getting too bogged down with the last 20%.

Thanks!

These are the two website ebooks you'll ever need to learn the basics of SEO.

    https://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo

This one is a detailed ebook that describes the ins and outs of basic SEO with a tiny bit of history in it.

    https://www.searchenginejournal.com/seo-guide/

This one is massiveeee, with over 18 chapters overall. SEJ is also a very reputed publication for all things SEO and quite legit. They study and track SEO to the point that they have Google's Search team on new Tweet notifications.

I also have an SEO blog that I'm just starting out but it's a bit tactical, because I want to make sure that I'm posting things that are of value: https://embarque.io/blog

I do think that basic SEO is valuable, but there's enough great articles on the subject matter.

    Backlinko Brain Dean.

One more tip: Don't delve deep into SEO unless you are pretty sure there is enough ROI there.

I should have added to the post, but I'm looking at it from a developer's perspective and helping my clients
