Hey! My name is Ksusha and our team is creating Aaply.app – visual collaborative tool to design mobile apps. We are launching an open beta and are looking for testers. Can you advise on which channels to look for? Slack / Discord / Facebook / LinkedIn etc.
Give this subreddit a try https://www.reddit.com/r/betatests/ 🙂
Thanks! Everything we need in this world could be found on Reddit.
true!
thank you 😊
I've also just recently launched the landing page for my product also corows.io, and we're currently in the process of gathering user interview+beta testers. So far we just used LinkedIn outreach, I have a bot that connects with 50 people in our market segment daily and the message we're sending out is simply that I'm building X so we'd like to discuss with you some concerns about Y, and we end it by saying that we're open to paying the fair amount for 20 minutes of your time or donate to charity of your choice.
We sent this to about 200 people so far and managed to get 2 user interviews out of it, both of which didn't ask for money. And after the interview included them in our beta testers list and they were open to have future calls to give feedback.
I think having direct contact with your first 50-100 customers is very valuable.
Also I stumbled on this website a few days ago https://www.first100users.com/ which can inspire some ideas for channels you can use.
Wish you best of luck in your project! :)
Thanks for mentioning my website!
thank you a lot, its very useful comment!
Yeah, I think the next step will be to DM designers and product managers, asking about beta-testing :)
Whats was the tool you used for Linkedin outreach?
I found there are 2 tpyes of LinkedIn outreach basically:
a) Using their built-in system (but you need to pay for this and are limited by the # of messages you send). You can also send a message in the connection request.
b) Trying to find the email by the profile and then emailing people
Curious what approach you used.
I use a Python script with Selenium that just loops over people in a search, connects with them and with the connect you can add a message. This has a weekly limit that I think depends on the number of connections you have, for me with about 1500 I think the limit was around 300.
I think messaging designers on LinkedIn would be a good idea! Also r/webdesign and other related design subreddits. Also maybe small design publications? Something like DesignerNews.
good ideas, thank you :)
Congrats on the beta! Here's a few places
If you need industry-specific beta testers, you should consider approaching people via http://linkedin.com or industry blogs.
Another good place to find beta testers is http://twitter.com. It requires work and you'll need to contact each person individually, but you can find useful testers by examining potential competition feeds and followers.
Although not exactly for finding beta testers, Product Hunt is also a good resource for early adopters.
thank you a lot! That list will help me
Thanks for these ideas!
you're welcome!
Congrats on the Beta! Here are a few solid places:
thanks!
I'm sure, Twitter is the place where you can find people from any group, including groups that can be interested in your product. So, start searching for people on Twitter having interests related to your niche, follow them, get in touch, ask questions. And be constantly visible there by showing off your progress, anything related to your offering
thank you a lot☺️
no prob )
I am a member of the WBE Space and I always use the #feedback slack channel to get some initial feedback
cool!
thank you :)
