Which affiliate software to use

Hi Indie Hackers,

I want to start an Affiliate program for my SaaS business, and I am now looking around for which Affiliate software to possibly integrate.

I already use Paddle for payments, and the options I am considering at the moment are FirstPromoter and Rewardful, with Tapfilliate as a third remote option. I am considering those because they offer 1) easy integration with Paddle and 2) lower prices to start out. Also, possibly a plus for EU companies, I see FirstPromoter also offers the possibility to generate invoices with tax/vat rate handling, vat check etc..

Unfortunately, you do not find many reviews online and also you don't really find a lot of information about all that they offer and what you can/can't do without first integrating them.

Do you have any experience with FirstPromoter or Rewardful? And which one would you suggest and why?

Thank you all for any input.

I have used FirstPromoter & recently switched to Rewardful.
I immediately started missing Firstpromoter. I had to switch because
the dashboard I am using is from ManyRequests & they had some issues integrating FirstPromoter. So I had to Switch.

I haven't given a fair time to Rewardful yet, so I may be wrong.
But in FirstPromoter I had an option to approve or decline any promoter who signs up.
In Rewardful, you don't have that power, it automatically gets approved.
In FirstPromoter, I could have again approved or denied payments, that feature again is missing in Rewardful. So within the first week, I felt like FirstPromoter was better.

Thanks! Really useful insight! I had the feeling that FirstPromoter is more solid feature wise. And affiliates approval seems a big deal if you want to curate who's part of the program.

And if I may ask, how do you handle invoices? Do you do "self-invoicing" for the affiliates (which I know FirstPromoter offers) or do you leave that to them to send you the invoice once they reach the payout threshold?

Self Invoicing. I don't know yet how Rewardful would work. As It's just been a week I have started using it.

I am also looking for suggestions & strategies. Would be great if you could share any strategy that you are planning for your affiliate.

Each of these platforms has its strengths, and the best choice will depend on your specific needs, such as the level of customization you require, the complexity of your affiliate program, and how you plan to manage and communicate with your affiliates.

Consider the features that are most important to you and how each platform aligns with those needs.

There are many software options available for affiliate programs. I have used media rails for affiliate marketing, which is easy to use and we can filter prospects based on our criteria and also enable us to send the bulk email.
Deciding which one to use may seem daunting, but it doesn't have to be. Here are a few things to consider when choosing affiliate software:
-Ease of use: how easy is the software to navigate and use?
-Features: what features does the software offer?
    -Pricing: is the software affordable?
-Customer support: how responsive is the customer support team?
Taking these factors into account will help you narrow down the options and choose the best software for your affiliate program.
