Which idea shoud I pursue?

Hi Indie community ! My name is Sevrain and I’m a french fullstack software engineer. I currently have a 9-5 job at a startup and I have always wanted to launch a side project. Here are my ideas, I think each of them have a good potential but I am very new to the indie hacker thing so I would like to have your thoughts !

  1. Productivity
A note taking chrome extension synchronized with Notion account. I thought about it while doing R&D at my job and I had to centralize my work. I was constantly jumping between my million tabs and my notion page.

  2. Collaboration
An app to help remote team organize meetings between different timezones.

  3. E-commerce
A qr code generator for shopify shops. Users could generate promotional codes and expose those in their physical shops or throigh social media.

What do you guys think ? What do you think has the most potential to succeed ?

#2 has the most potential, however, it will be largish teams that will be needing it the most, which are hard to sell into at the MVP stage. So best start with a cold email campaign to understand pain points a bit better.

#1 seems like a problem you're already dealing with. The other 2 seem like cool & plain ideas that many people are trying to tackle, experts on the problems and noobs alike. I'd advise to go with #1 because you can probably assume that if you have this problem then so do others! Worst case scenario no one uses it but you've solved an issue for yourself!

I think #2 has the most potential of the three options. Depends a lot on exactly what you'd be offering though!

At first I was just thinking about one simple feature: find matching time between 2 or more agendas. People would enter their working hours and when you want to have a meeting it would just match their calendars in their timezones

Sounds cool! I don't work in a company that has employees in multiple timezones, so I would probably try to talk to a handful of people that do to see if this would solve a problem for them. My gut says it's a great idea though.

I might suggest working on a project that solves one of your problem so the productivity idea might work. I'm not sure if it might succees business wise but you should get valuable insights.
