Which is the best blogging platform?

Hi everyone!

I am thinking about starting a blog to write about my personal path starting a project from scratch, while working in my 9 to 5.

Anyone has any recommendations from all the tools that exist out there?

Thanks in advance :)!

I am using a combination of notion with super.so. I do everything on notion so it comes naturally for me, besides, it's super easy to set up.

Can be a good solution on the short term until your publication grows more, since it has limitations too. Example: https://alexllull.com/Essays-477b0902f83c4e5680cd07c886098ad8

I want to do something very similar to your site, so definitely I will explore those options!

      Gracias!

as long as you don't publish on medium!

the most important thing is that you start. my recommendation is to use IH:

    fast, free, simple.

Hi @cobrahero, I'm thinking about starting a project very similar to yours. I found Ghost which seems to be a good option. It's very flexible, if you just want to start blogging you can subscribe per USD$ 29/month. It is also an open-source project so if you have some technical knowledge you can install it in a Digital Ocean instance per USD$ 5/month or whatever other option that works for you. There is a third option, which is the one I picked: you can install it locally in your laptop, use its awesome admin panel, and 'export' the blog as a static page that you can upload to GitHub pages or Netlify for free. :)

      Hi @jjmedinas, Thanks for sharing!
I'm not at this point right now, but definitelly will explore this option as soon as the blog starts to get more traction. Right now I'm looking for something "simpler" so I only have to focus on the writing, but definitely will explore this possibilty in the future.

Hey Toni! A team of mine recently started a cool blog platform that is easily deployable and easier to host. We are working on an official launch. But, you could definitely try it -- unote.io
ALSO, it is completely free :)

For sure, Toni. Would love to hear what you think about it, if you do use it.

One of my customers moved away from Medium https://medium.com/@StephNass/i-am-moving-away-from-medium-follow-me-to-versoly-546559cec2e9

    Terrible UX for your visitors.

WP is overkill and can be a huge time sink.

If you have technical skills and don't mind playing around with servers etc Ghost might be a good option.

If you want something that includes landing pages, analytics, easy way to collect emails and world class support try http://versoly.com/ (I built it :)

Did you select one already? I'm doing my research but still didn't find the one that fits better

I have decided to post on both dev.to and medium for now. But everyone suggests hosting your own. I will do that once I develop a regular habit of writing.

If you’re going to blog heavily, I’d suggest Wordpress hosted on Veerotech. They are very reliable and cost ~5 usd/month.

If you want to blog as a way to earn exposure for your product, then I think medium would be the way to go.

Also don’t forget to couple that with a newsletter. Building a list is crucial these days.

The idea is having my own site & Domain, and then cross-publish in some other platform that might give me more exposure.

Definitely also want to launch the Newsletter.

      Any free alternative for Wordpress?
