Hey everyone.
Hoping to NOT start a religious war here. But I have an biz idea I want to try pretty quickly. I'm on my own and have no funds for employing a developer.
I've learnt basic Java (Android apps with Udacity) and Python in the past but nothing fancy.
I want to build a fairly simple booking engine with an API to other companies systems to pull through live availability data for multiple products across a range of time (think flights - but not).
Then I need to be able to book and purchase.
So the MVP is fairly basic.
I've heard Ruby on Rails is the easiest to learn but also aware that Node.Js is quite popular these days and probably other things I have no idea about.
I'm not fussed if my time is "wasted" and needs to be replaced at a later stage. ie. build this to test the thesis, if it works and I can make a little money, then beg/borrow/steal and employ someone to build it properly.
I have no experience in either language.
What is everyone's thoughts?
Bonus points for a good resource to follow and learn from :)
