Who actually stops working during the weekends?

I'm curious, who keeps working even on weekends?

I truly feel we need a weekend break, but it's so common that I ended up reading a related reading, checking metrics, writing here, planning next tasks, etc.

Anyone else?

I work all hours. I love what I do. Been doing this since 2004. Building tech startups is not for the weak. You need to find out what works for you. It's all down to the level of ambition you have.

I need to work most weekends to keep progress going on OpsYogi, but I took the boat out this weekend to see the blue angels so there are definitely days where I relax and have fun but there is more time in the week than most admit. I’ll probably be coding tonight when I get back from dinner!

I understand the early days usually are 3X hard work, good luck with OpsYogi!

My current startup is still in moonlight mode so working weekends is usually a must for me. I make a conscious effort not to overdo it though, having learned the hard way from multiple burnouts over the years.

It looks like every entrepreneur needs to go through burnout actually to understand this!

I don't. No chance. Just can't do a full day off. But... I will be planning to take a vacation weekend soon.

I don't stop working but definitely stop things for the audience. B2B is already overwhelming Monday - Friday. No need to let it bleed into the weekend as well :D

True! Good part of being B2B

For nearly a decade I would work every available day because it brought me a lot of joy. Without realizing it, I've burned myself out, isolated myself from other non-tech hobbies, friends, and life in general. It took about a year to recover from the burnout, and since then I've significantly cut down my work time to around 6 hours per weekday. No weekend work. The human mind needs rest as it is not sustainable nor efficient to continue to work in overdrive.

So true! We must focus on maintaining balance, everything at the right time, work, breaks, vacations, hard work, etc

I do about the same every day, never overdoing it. Doesn't feel like work.

If doing what you do is your thing and you enjoy every second of it, that's great. Good for you. But if work is just one part of your life, your entire business does not solely depend on you, and you have other ways of having a good time, then please take breaks and don't force yourself to work.
Constant work with no breaks will lead to burnout and it will negatively affect you as a person. Cause you know, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy 💀

if reading a related reading doesn't count than i do take a break :-)

Of course - it's hard not to, right? Our products and startups are way more exciting than life 😅

It's become such a big part of our life! But it's so important to find any other core thing to keep the balance ;)

It depends on the weekend. Some weekends I'm very careful to take the whole weakened off. However, plenty of times there is something I want to finish and so I'll do some work. It feels odd to works so hard to hopefully get to the point where I can mostly just work when I want. The dream is what drives me.

Totally understand, I'm trying to do the same :)
