Who can I follow for SaaS marketing inspiration?

I made a product (MrScraper.com) and I got the first paying customer.

I think I should slow down the development speed and start finding new potential customers.

I'm horrible at marketing and have no ideas. Who can I follow for inspiration?

Looking for

  • Twitter accounts
  • Youtube channels
  • Short pdf or courses

Thanks!

    Yo Kai!

I was in a similar situation 2 years ago. Some must-follow people that really helped me overcome this are:

A genuinely valuable podcast I listen to regularly, that's not all about marketing but it's a recurring topic - My First Million

And a really good copywriting course from one of the hosts that really helped me in writing blogs, cold emails, etc. - Power Writing by Shaan Puri

Also Aherf's SEO and blogging courses for businesses.

    Enjoy πŸ‘‹

      This comment is gold!

I was already following Simon and Rob.

And the other resources are an awesome starter kit for a solopreneur like me. Thanks! πŸ₯ΉπŸ™Œ

Hey Kai. You have a great landing page and a great app. Congrats!

I don't have a recommendation on who you should follow but I do have some ideas on content you could create to market yourself.

    1. Be specific about who the product is for. Your landing page is great in explaining the problem and how you solve it. But it's not clear "who" your audience is. At the moment it could be anyone who has this problem, but after using the product it's clear that it's for developers or people with strong technical skills.

    2. Inspire with examples. Share examples of how scraped data can be used - inspire your audience by giving them new ideas that they can relate to their own problems.

    3. How-to's. Create simple videos guides on how to implement your product into any workflow. Good marketing is communication and your help desk / customer support is a massive opportunity to convert trialists and build a loyal community.

For example: I just signed up for a trial, setup my first scraper... and now I don't know what to do next! I not a developer but I can usually hack things together, so maybe i'm not the target audience. If there are many more people like me who sign up but don't have the same experience as the marketing, we'll never become customers and we won't share it with our community. I have a real need for data scraping in my business but I'll keep looking for a tool that fits my needs and matches my skills.

You got to first of all, do some work on figuring out who your most potential customer would be. (marketers call it ICP, Ideal Customer Profile).
Then find a tool that scraps... :) their contact info, and cold contact them.

I don't have anything useful to contribute since I don't know anything about marketing but your landing page is beautiful.
