Who here thinks that the "job interview" is stuck in the past?
by
Robin Greenwood
What annoys you the most about job interviews/ the hiring process?
If you're on the hiring end: what have you or your team tried to improve the process? What worked and what failed?
What does your ideal process look like to you?
Thanks!
Yes, for sure Robin I totally agree that the job interview is stuck in the past!!
Okay I am responding to your message from three months ago, but seeing that the interview process hasn't changed since then, hopefully you're still with me on that 😂

1st the rant on your question on what annoys me about the current process.
It's a lot of things.
I call it the "Cinderella Hiring Process." You know the fairy tale where we know everything about Cinderella (her singing skills, her ability to make animal friends and her impressive talent for dancing in glass slippers!)?
But what do we know about the prince? Nothing.... that he's hiring??
That's what we do in our interview process... we try to know everything about the candidate (background, education, interests, blah, blah blah...). And, while people act like facial recognition software for interviews is so revolutionary, OMG, it's seriously just more of the same of probing the candidate.
🤔 now some might say "yes, but in the fairy tale, they live happily ever after"
True.
But, that's because it is a fairy tale. 🤨 And, unless all your managers are a prince to work with or without personality, all these one-sided assessments are never going to lead to hiring success.

2nd you ask "what have we done to improve the process?"
Built a tool that does 2-sided bias-free assessments.
Now of course I could write a lot about this, but will spare you. 😎 You're welcome.

3rd, the ideal process we have built answers the two most pressing questions:
If you would like to know anything more Robin, I'm so happy to share. Feel free to reach out. ✌️
