Who here uses Docker? Has it leveled up your dev skills?
I'm starting to learn about Docker at work, and it's gotten me thinking... how useful is it to know Docker for Indie projects / products?
Containerization sounds fantastic, but I'm trying to imagine its use in a real-world scenario (specifically for the indie projects I'm starting to build).
Does anyone here use Docker in production? If so, where do you see its benefits? I'm researching it as a Docker newbie, and thinking about:
- Developer Ergonomics
- Cost savings for hosting (is this a thing?)
- Compatibility with my stack (Ruby on Rails)
- Ability to automate more as a solo-dev
