Why 80% of Landing Pages Don’t Convert (And How to Fix Yours)

Most founders don’t fail because of their idea. They fail because their landing page doesn’t clearly explain why someone should care.

In my work as a UX writer and copywriter, I’ve noticed a consistent pattern:

The hero section talks about the product, not the problem it solves.

Calls to action feel generic, so users don’t feel compelled to click.

Pages are designed for aesthetics, not clarity and flow.

The good news? Small tweaks in design and wording can make a huge difference.

Lead with the user’s problem, then explain how you solve it.

Use language your audience actually uses, not internal jargon.

Test microcopy (CTA buttons, form prompts) because they often impact conversions more than a full redesign.

I’m curious: How are you currently testing and improving your landing page messaging?

If anyone here is in the early stage and unsure what’s working, I’m happy to review one landing page for free and share insights on clarity, flow, and messaging. Just drop a link or DM me.
