Why Agencies Are Overpaying for Local SEO Tracking

https://serpspur.com/tool/local-search-spoofing-tool

I spent the weekend building something I wish I had earlier in my SEO work.

I was tired of manually checking local rankings for different clients — switching locations, using VPNs, guessing results, and still never getting consistent data.

So I built a tool that lets you spoof local search results by country, city, region, and language. No VPNs. No manual work. Just clean, location-based SERP visibility in seconds.

Turns out, a lot of agencies are dealing with the same problem… and many are overpaying for tools that do this poorly or partially.

I shared it on Twitter just to test the idea — and it pulled in 50 signups in 2 days.

It’s called SERPSpur.

Right now it’s still early, but the goal is simple:
Make local SEO visibility testing fast, accurate, and affordable for everyone — especially freelancers and small agencies.

Would love feedback from others building in SEO or SaaS space.

  1. 1

Local SEO tracking gets expensive fast when every client requires another subscription. IMO, agencies should look for platforms that combine local rankings with complete SEO auditing and analysis. That’s one of the problems SERPSpur is built to solve.

  2. 1

This is a useful wedge because local SEO rank tracking is one of those problems agencies understand immediately.

I’d be careful not to frame it only as “spoofing locations” though. That explains the feature, but agencies usually buy the operational outcome: checking client visibility faster, proving local ranking changes, and avoiding messy VPN/manual checks.

The sharper promise might be closer to:

“See how your client ranks from any local search location without switching devices, VPNs, or manual setups.”

That makes it feel less like a small SEO utility and more like a workflow shortcut for agencies managing multiple local clients.

For validation, I’d test this directly with small SEO agencies handling 5 to 30 local clients. They’ll feel the pain much faster than solo site owners.
