Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and TikTok already have massive audiences.
So why would anyone build another social network?
That's the question we've been asking ourselves while building Verzii from India.
We didn't start with the idea of "let's build another social media app."
We started with a broader question:
Can we build a social platform where people, creators and communities can have a more meaningful digital presence?
Verzii is our attempt to explore that.
What we're building
Verzii brings social discovery, content creation, communities and digital identity into one platform.
Users can:
• Discover people, creators and content
• Create and share content
• Build or participate in communities
• Follow creators and interests
• Build their digital identity
• Connect with people and businesses
Our core idea is simple:
Discover. Create. Connect.
The difficult part isn't building the features
The technology is only one part of the problem.
The much harder questions are:
• How do you build a network when you don't already have a network?
• Why would a creator spend time on another platform?
• How do you make communities useful before they have scale?
• What makes someone try a new social platform instead of staying where their friends already are?
• What should a social feed actually optimize for?
These are problems we're still figuring out.
We're building Verzii from India, but we're thinking about it as a global product.
I'd love to hear from other founders who have dealt with network effects, marketplaces, communities or cold-start problems.
What worked for you?
What didn't?
And if you were building a new social network today, what would you do differently?

The cold-start question is probably the hardest part here.
Curious what early users seem to care about most so far: discovering something new, building an audience, or finding a community they can’t get elsewhere.
