Why are you NOT using a feedback board?

What are the reasons you are not using a feedback-board like canny etc. for your product / SaaS?
One of my products is very niche. There's us and one major competitor.
I've always worried that if I make our feature requests list public, it will give our main competitor a ready made "to do" list of all the features we don't have yet.
That's very true! I'm now curious why Canny's clients never thought of this?
I see using Canny, ProductStash as an open board mainly helps to obtain ideas from the public and community as you expand. It also provides a sense of openness about what is being worked upon so that consumers who are willing to pay for a function gets that information.
I like the idea of feedback board
But sounds it’s too early to confirm feedback board is the only solution.
Many users are adopting alternatives to display, prioritize and organize feedback from different stakeholders.
