Why building in public?

Nowadays, everyone is talking about building in public to gain traction.

But what if we don't build in public?
Will we still get the traction?
Don't we have any other way apart from building in public?

I think you hit the nail on the head.

'Distribution' is mandatory, but 'Building in Public' is optional.

BiP is just one marketing channel (specifically, content marketing targeting other founders). There are plenty of other valid channels: SEO, cold outreach, viral loops, or paid ads.

If you are building a B2C app for non-tech users, tweeting about your tech stack (BiP) might not bring any traction at all. We shouldn't confuse the goal (finding users) with the tactic.

Thanks for the insights. What would you suggest for B2B?

Great question. I believe the logic remains the same: Go where your users are looking for solutions.
