Why building websites still feels slow (even with modern tools)

While working with websites and side projects, I kept running into the same problems again and again:

• Setting up a basic site still takes hours
• Content writing blocks momentum early
• Non-technical founders depend on devs for small changes
• Agencies repeat the same setup work for every client
• “Quick MVPs” rarely feel quick

I recently experimented with a different approach:
What if a website could be generated from intent, not templates?

Instead of starting with layouts, you start with:
– What the site is for
– Who it’s for
– What pages it needs

From there, the rest should be automatic.

This way of thinking helped me move from idea → working website much faster, especially for:
• MVPs
• Internal tools
• Client drafts
• Early-stage products

I’m curious how others here think about this:

– What’s the most painful part of building websites for you?
– Speed, content, design, or maintenance?
– If you could remove ONE step from the process, what would it be?
