Why We Built CleanSubtitle

We built CleanSubtitle because we know what it feels like to spend hours creating something meaningful, only to get stuck cleaning up the words afterwards.

A podcast episode. A YouTube video. An interview. A course. A documentary. A conversation that someone took the time to record.

The content is already there. The ideas are already there. The story is already there.

But then comes the tedious part: fixing broken sentences, removing awkward timestamps, correcting words that AI got wrong, cleaning up subtitles line by line, and trying to make something that was created naturally feel polished enough to share with the world.

We kept thinking: why should people have to spend hours fixing something that technology can understand in seconds?

That became the reason for CleanSubtitle.

We wanted to build a tool that quietly takes care of the messy part, so creators can get back to the part that actually matters. Most importantly, we decided to take it even a step further and we made auto-subtitle generation for audio and video files available, and also included an auto-captions generator tool for videos

Because subtitles aren't just text on a screen. They're how people understand a story when they can't hear it. They're how someone discovers a video in another language. They're how a podcast becomes searchable. They're how an idea reaches someone who might never have found it otherwise.

So we're not really building a subtitle cleaner.

We're building a way for people to spend less time fixing their content and more time creating it.
