I’ve always enjoyed playing video games and recording clips to share with friends. But social platforms like Discord or Facebook have strict file size limits, which often made sharing difficult. Sometimes I had to upload videos to YouTube just to send them around, which felt slow and inconvenient.
Most online video compressors I tried either had their own limits — like capping file size, restricting the number of compressions per day, or locking features behind paywalls. So I decided to build my own simple video compression app as a side project.
That’s awesome! Totally get the struggle with Discord’s limits. Making your own tool sounds way more convenient than jumping through all those hoops.
