Why did I get flagged on Hacker news?

    My guess would be that the account that posted it (braydentw) mostly posts self promotional posts. I've noticed that HN is pretty sensitive to accounts that are have a majority of posts that are self-promotion.

    Their user guidelines does state:

    Please don't use HN primarily for promotion. It's ok to post your own stuff occasionally, but the primary use of the site should be for curiosity.

    I think a good practice is to regularly share non-self promotional posts and then when you do have something of your own to share, it will be much less likely to be flagged/marked dead.

    HN is notorious for getting flagged. Your post itself doesn't seem to be self serving promotional but they - like all communities - want value and an interesting read. If

    You can give it another shot by changing the title and post at optimum times to gain traction.

    NB HN isn't the be all and end all - you've got FB groups, reddit, slack, discord to get in and engage in. These are just a smidge of where you can jump in...
