We all know the right answer to this question is...
"I'm passionate about helping <INSERT USER SEGMENT> by <HOW YOU SOLVE THEIR PROBLEM>"
But we're not all level 99 indie hackers and let's be real it's not just about serving our users.
I'd love to hear the raw truth about why you're building your current product.
I'll go first 👇.
Similarly, I have 3 reasons for building Time Advisor:
I resonate tremendously with your reasons for building Time Advisor.
I'm rooting for you. Never stop building.
I am building https://twitter.com/thriftmvp an early / pre-revenue high quality MVP marketplace. There are a few reasons I am building this:
Very cool.
I have a rolling set of notes around 'becoming the best product rapid prototyper'. This looks like a tool I could use at some point during my journey.
That sounds like a pretty cool goal to have! Would love to get in touch with you and ask you a few things from your rapid prototyper perspective.
Super down
Awesome! Where can I reach you?

FIXED! Sorry about that @bugz
I built it in Google Spreadsheets first, just refining the formulas over a few years.
During the pandemic, I asked a friend who wanted to lose weight if they would start tracking using the spreadsheet and my coaching.
He lost 70lbs and has kept it off.
Then we thought, "hey, spreadsheets are pretty lame, what about an app that does this with more features instead?"
Looking forward to your launch.
I've thought of a similar product to track habits and see which activities has the best effect on wellbeing. Could Micro help me do that?
Hey there! Thank you so much! Right now, I'm having a tough time getting user auth/memberships set up so that's really the last piece until I can at least get a beta MVP out.
Hm, it's mainly related to weight and nutritional habits.
For example, with Micro, you track your macros, step count, weight, and a few other metrics over time and build a sustainable diet (whether your goal is to lose fat, bulk, or maintain) through those habits. And in the dashboard, you can view and analyze your progress over time to make adjustments along the way!
That said, if you are tracking and find a new activity that really clicks with you, then your progress while using Micro will reflect that.
That makes sense. I appreciate your response.
I'm rooting for you @elsiealkurabi! 🥂
I'm building unblokd.com because I'm tired of being gaslighted on Stackoverflow.
I think there's room for a place where you can ask for help and just pay to get a solution from someone. Or earn helping others.
Now this is super interesting.
Correct me if I'm wrong but you're essentially monetizing dev solutions?
Yup, exactly that!
I'm building TIMEVA for 3 reasons.
Instead of building an app over 2 years (Light Bulb), I want to prove that I can build a useful, cool, simple app in 30 days.
I personally want a simple, super customizable, productivity timer to time block my work.
I want to practice community & marketing to generate interest in something I'm building.
• I grew up poor, on welfare, using food stamps, and struggled with childhood obesity.
• Everyone in my family suffers from metabolic disease in some form or another.
• My mom died recently from Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD). She had elevated liver enzymes for most of her adult life but because she didn't drink alcohol and she was "thin" those values were ignored.
• I want to solve this for myself, my family, friends, coworkers, everyone.
You have major respect from me for your journey to this point.
My family has struggled with obesity as well.
To me, the obesity epidemic is one of the least discussed and simultaneously most important issues of our time. I wonder if making it easier to talk about is part of the solution. No one wants to hurt anyones feelings but calling out your friend/family that's over eating / under exercising is what we should do if we care.
I think it doesn't get discussed seriously, although it does get discussed constantly.
My company reframes the focus from weight, which is a terrible predictor of actual health, into body composition. Body composition is looked at further in 2 parts:
We also don't shame our outlaw anything. You can eat anything, exercise any way, drink alcohol, etc. We just provide the next-best-step for you to follow to improve your health. Users don't necessarily have to track anything but the system does work even better when they do.
We hope by removing judgment and automating as much of the process as possible, we can make it easier for everyone.
We shall see...
I’m on a mission to get rid of popups on the web. 😄
Conversion design
Bless you - popups are literally the worst thing ever.
Sometimes I just leave the site immediately.
It's so rude haha.
