Why do some Indie Hackers posts get replies instantly while others get ignored?

I’ve been spending a lot of time reading posts here and noticed something curious.

Two posts can have similar effort, similar ideas — yet one gets comments quickly, and the other stays quiet.

One thing that seems to make a difference is visual clarity.
Posts with cleaner screenshots or images feel easier to engage with at first glance.

But I’m not 100% sure.

So I’m curious to hear from people who’ve tested this:

• Do visuals actually help posts get more comments here?

• Or is it mostly about the story, timing, and headline?
