Why do you need to convert an HTML document to a PDF?

This topic is not new, but I'm still interested in learning how you use tools to convert HTML to PDF. Is this relevant for you?

I have a need for quickly converting HTML invoice templates to PDF without putting a load on the main server and then sending the document to clients via email. However, I'm interested in learning how you have addressed the issue of converting HTML documents to PDF.
