Why do you want to be held accountable?

I'm trying to understand why you'd want to be held accountable?
What does being held accountable mean to you and why's it valuable/useful?

Context:
I run a coaching style service. I'm creating a new offering where I help you set your priorities each week and then check in at the end of the week to see how you've done.

Worked with plenty of Indie Hackers for my main service, so thought I'd try to understand why many love being held accountable by someone externally.
