Why does writing a simple newsletter take so long?

Last week, a friend told me it took her nearly 2 hours to send a newsletter.
No complex automation. No fancy design. Just… writing and dragging blocks around.

She started with a “ready-to-use” template.
Then came the endless tweaking:
move this block, resize that image, fix alignment, preview, fix again…

All this for one email.

It got me thinking:
How much time do we spend every week doing this?

▫️ 30 minutes
▫️ 1 hour
▫️ 2 hours
▫️ More?

And what could we be doing instead?
Working on the product, talking to users, writing better content… or just logging off earlier.

Maybe ... just maybe we should start rethinking how we create emails?
After the drag-and-drop editor came the no-code editor...
Maybe it’s time for the future : AI editor.

Totally get this. Even when writing just a few lines for my RPG-style self-growth site, I easily spend 30+ minutes tweaking tone, flow, and layout.
The more I care about the message, the longer it takes 😅
AI might help with first drafts, but editing still feels so human.

Totally agree. Writing a “simple” newsletter often turns into hours of rewriting, refining, doubting. Your post nails that invisible workload.

I love how you framed the conclusion: “It’s time for the future: AI Editor.”

The need for something that combines structure, tone consistency, and human-like intuition is huge — not just for speed, but to reduce mental friction.

Curious: are you building something in this space?
