Why don't we have a strategy?

Great article. You just don't need a strategy but you should have a great strategy.
Strategy tends to come with a change of mentality and gathered experience.
From my own personal story, the first business I ever created was out necessity. Couldn't find a job that payed enough, needed extra cash to take care of my family and bills that kept piling up. Starting my business under those conditions, felt like I couldn't afford to think of a Strategy, and resulted in this "I have to stop thinking and start doing" attitude the article portrayed.
In hindsight, If I would have dedicated time to think of a Strategy, thought of guiding principles to lead me in decisions. It would have saved from so many problems and indecision that ended up costing me more time and money in the long-run.
Whole-heartly recommend anyone in a similar situation to where I was, to strategize and when doing so to not limit your potential due to circumstances. Setting the bar that low will only make it a tripping hazard for your success.
Thanks for sharing the article, really some nice food for thought!
I use to work at a corporation that have 50+ people working specifically on strategy. The team also don't do financial strategy, pr strategy, investor strategy, IP strategy... directly as there are other teams for that.
Totally different scale than most small/mid size companies
Time to implement a good strategy is key. It's surprising how many businesses overlook this. Just because you get to the next pillar doesn't mean you got there the best way. Great article.
Interesting post. In my experience, this is a top-down issue and one that needs addressing from the very beginning when the team is small.
