Why entrepreneurs need to adopt the ‘solutionism’ mindset if they want to succeed

I think this is what sets entrepreneurs apart – the ability to take risks that others won’t. Fail enough and eventually you’ll succeed.

I had a friend once, like me, dreamed of being an entrepreneur in the tech space. However, where we disagreed was that he would always come up with ideas with the goal of how much money could be made. Where I was always of the opinion that we should always look to solve a problem first, then think about how it can be monetised.

I’m not sure what became of him but I’m still on the journey; and I enjoy the process of building a product that solves a problem and that keeps me going.

If you don't know the solution of a problem that how would know success. Modern problems require modern solutions.

Yes, everyone sell their services or products but the one who has the solution for a problem through his service/product wins the customer's heart!

I have a similar line of thought, except that I call it Positive Pessimism.
It's been long that I have thrown both optimism and pessimism, as i see both have faults.
Most people don't find problem with optimism, but it irritates me.
Optimism somewhere relies on external factors and things to go in our way, which actually leads to more dependency.
Depending on something is weakness.
Hence, I do all that is needed for success but then I also assume that things go haywire and take failure for granted.
By that way, I take result out of the equation and concentrate more on process.

I really like this idea. I’d never heard the term solutionism before, but it makes perfect sense. Of course, the battle is always getting the balance right which is very hard to do when you’re in the thick of things.
