Hey IH,
Managing global communities on Discord is a blast, until you have to announce an event.
"See you at 8 PM EST!" is a nightmare for your members in Tokyo or London. Discord actually has built-in dynamic timestamps that adjust to each user’s local time, but the syntax is incredibly unintuitive (who actually remembers <t:1672531200:R>?).
As years of dev experience, I believe tools should eliminate friction, not add to it. So, I built discord-timestamp-generator.com.
The Tech Stack:
Next.js 14 & SSR: Zero-latency interface for quick generation.
Persistent Settings: Using Local Storage to remember your format preferences.
Responsive Design: Built for community managers who are often moderating from their phones.
The Roadmap:
I'm offering it completely free to help managers focus on engagement instead of timezone math.
This is part of my ecosystem of utility tools. It’s simple, it works, and it solves a real communication gap in global communities.
Would love to hear how you guys handle event scheduling in your Discord servers. Any feedback on the UI is highly appreciated!
Peter Anderson
