Why I built a free PDF toolkit that doesn't require an account

I just launched Utilade — a free, privacy-focused toolkit for working with PDFs.

I built it because I was frustrated with how many simple PDF tasks require accounts, subscriptions, daily limits, watermarks, or uploading sensitive files.

Utilade currently offers 50+ PDF tools for merging, splitting, compressing, converting, editing, OCR, signing, protecting and more.

My goal is to make these everyday tasks as simple and accessible as possible, while processing files directly in the browser whenever technically possible.

I'm building Utilade completely as a solo founder and plan to expand it beyond PDFs into image tools, QR tools and other useful digital utilities.

I'd love to hear from other Indie Hackers:

What's the most annoying document or file-related task you deal with regularly?

I'd love to build the tools that actually solve those problems.
