Why I built a visual flow engine that runs 100% in the browser
Most flow tools force you to pick a lane: chatbot builder, form builder, AI orchestrator, automation platform. Each one hides its logic behind code, sends data across the internet, locks you into a proprietary format, and charges you for the privilege.
I wanted one system that handles it all.
The problem I kept running into:
Whether it's a chatbot conversation, a multi-step form, an AI agent pipeline, or a tool orchestration, at the core it's always the same thing: a flow of decisions, inputs, and reactions. Yet every tool reinvents the wheel with its own format, its own editor, its own limitations.
The people who actually understand the content (therapists, support teams, product managers, domain experts) get locked out because they can't code. And once a flow grows, it becomes impossible to follow. Which input triggers what? Why was that branch chosen? Nobody knows.
What I built:
Wanderer is a visual, no-code flow engine that runs entirely in the browser. No backend. No data collection. No signup. One system for all kinds of flows.
One engine, many use cases. Chatbot flows, form flows, AI agent orchestration, tool chains. All built with the same graph-based system.
Graph-first editing. Every node, edge, and condition is visible. Logic lives in the graph, not in hidden scripts.
Live debugging. Watch your flow execute in real-time as you build. Every traversal path is visible directly in the editor.
Reactive flows. Users can go back, change their mind, and correct inputs without restarting. Like real conversations.
Privacy by default. Everything runs client-side. No data leaves the browser unless you choose to share it. GDPR-friendly out of the box.
Open JSON format. Flows are text-based, readable, shareable, forkable. No vendor lock-in. AI models can generate or modify flows directly.
One-line embed. Drop a single script tag on your site, and you're live.

Wanderer is a solo project, built in Würzburg, Germany. It's free to use. I'm not chasing VC funding or building the next SaaS unicorn. I believe flow logic should be open, transparent, and accessible to everyone, not locked behind paywalls and black boxes.
